vehicle is locked with the central locking button in
the driver's door → p. 57.

Depending on the equipment,
settings for central
locking can be made
in the
infotainment system's
Vehicle
settings
menu.
Automatic locking (Auto Lock)
From a speed of approx. 15 km/h (9 mph), the
vehicle locks automatically. When the
vehicle is
locked, the indicator light in
the central locking
button lights up yellow.
Automatic Unlock (Auto Unlock)
If one of the following conditions is met, all doors
and the tailgate are automatically unlocked:

For vehicles with automatic transmission:
parking lock P is engaged and the ignition is
switched off.
—
OR: the inside door handle has been pulled.
This applies when driving under 15 km/h (9
mph).

OR: In the event of an accident, an airbag has
been triggered → page 59.
Automatic unlocking allows third parties to
gain access to the interior of the vehicle for
the purpose of
provide assistance where necessary.

Locking the vehicle
The central locking button only works when all
doors are closed, whether the ignition is switched
on or off.
When the vehicle is locked from the outside with
the key, the central locking buttons do not work.
When locking the vehicle from the inside using the
central locking button, the following must be
observed:
- The control lamp on the button lights up
yellow when all doors are closed and locked.
The doors can be opened from the inside by
pulling
the door handle. The indicator light
in the
button goes out. Doors that do not open and the
tailgate remain locked and cannot be opened from
the outside.
