– Tighten securing bolts -1- and -3- to 10 Nm.
– Carefully push guide rail of chain tensioner in
-direction of arrow- with a screwdriver to relieve tension on
chain tensioner.
– Remove locking pin -T10115- from chain tensioner.
Note
Check marking arrows on uncoupled chain sprocket. Arrows must
align.
– Tighten the new securing bolts -arrows- for the chain sprocket.
Specified torque: 10 Nm +

turn (90°) further.
Note
Insert bolts for cover with locking fluid -D 000 600 A2- .
– Install cover and tighten bolts -arrows- to 6 Nm.
– Remove locking tool -T10255- .
– Install oil pump suction line and tighten securing bolts to cor‐
rect specified torque:
M6 = 10 Nm
M8 = 20 Nm +

– Install sealing flange ⇒ page 35 .
– Install sump ⇒ page 117 .
– Install toothed belt ⇒ page 51 .
3.4 Retrofitting spur gear drive for balancer
shaft module
Note
When worn, the chain drive element of the balancer shaft module
must be changed to a spur gear drive element. Chain drive bal‐
ancer shaft modules are no longer available.
