– Slowly fill coolant to upper marking of shaded field on expan‐
sion tank.
– Fit expansion tank cap.
– Switch air conditioner to „Econ“ or „Off“.
– Start engine and maintain an engine speed of about 2000 rpm
for about 3 minutes.
– Run engine until radiator fan cuts in.
– Check coolant level and top-up if necessary. When the engine
is at normal operating temperature, the coolant level must be
at the upper mark; when the engine is cold, in the middle of
the shaded field.
1.6 Removing and installing fan support
with fans

♦ Torque wrench (5…50 Nm) -V.A.G 1331-
Removing
– Remove noise insulation tray ⇒ Rep. gr. 50 .
– Remove intake air duct from air filter ⇒ page 259 .
– Bring lock carrier into service position ⇒ Rep. gr. 50 .
– Separate connector -1- and remove fan support securing bolts
-arrows-.
– Remove fan support with fans upwards.
