Starter element
Starter element
The starter element heats the inlet air to the engine.
This element comprises three wire elements con-
nected in series and mounted in a connecting pipe,
and is located between the turbocharger and the en-
gine’s inlet manifold. The element is engaged auto-
matically when the starter key is turned to/passes the
preheating position (II). This sends a voltage pulse to
a time relay, which in turn controls engagement of
the element via a control relay. The engagement
time is approx. 50 sec.
See wiring diagrams on pages 73 and 75.
