Symptom: Engine does not start
Fault tracing
First check whether or not the fault is in the igni t ion
system by checking for a spark at one of the plugs.
Disconnect a
plug lead. connect it to a spare plug and
operate
the starter motor .
N.B. Ensure sparking
does not take place in vicinity of
other wiring!
Spark present ?
Ves Engine or fuel system fault.
No Check for spark at i gnition coil:
Connect
an ignit io n lead and plug directly to
the coil . Ground the plug and operate the
starter motor .
Spark at ignition coil?

Co rr ect faults as required.
