3.22 Tying down the excavator
Warning!
Improper loading, strapping, and transporting of the machine can be hazard-
ous.
• Ensure that the machine is properly strapped down.
• Read the safety instructions at the beginning of this chapter and follow
any other applicable safety instructions..
• Make sure the authorized maximum height is not exceeded
• Secure the tracks of the excavator at the front, rear and at the sides
• Lower the stabilizer blade and the boom
• Firmly tie down the excavator at the eye hooks A onto the platform, with belts or
tracks of adequate size
• Before transporting the machine through heavy rain:
close the outlet of the muffler with a simple cap or suitable adhesive tape
• Make sure the driver of the transport vehicle knows the overall height, width and
weight of his vehicle (including excavator) before departure, as well as the legal
transport regulations of the country or countries where transport is to take place!
