8.12 Removing Connecting Rod and Piston

8.12.1 Scrape off any carbon from the cylinder and the piston head (a).
Remove the two M6 connecting rod bolts (b) and remove the
connecting rod cap (c).
8.12.2 Rotate the crankshaft until the piston comes to its top position. From
inside the crankcase, push the connecting rod (d) and piston out the
top of the crankcase.
8.12.3 Remove the two piston pin clips (e) and remove the piston pin (f).
Being careful not to damage the connecting rod, remove it from the
piston.
8.12.4 Being careful not to damage the rings or the piston, remove the rings
(g) from the piston by spreading them at the gap and pulling them from
the piston.
