6.3.4 Fuel Distribuon System
The fuel is delivered from the tank to the engine through the “Integrated Fuel Demand Valve” (IFDV),
an-siphon valve, and the fuel line. The IFDV prevents the built up pressure inside the tank from being
transferred to the engine while sll allowing fuel to ow as the engine requires it for operaon. The an-
siphon valve is a safety feature designed to prevent the fuel from siphoning out of the tank if the fuel line
were to be cut or broken below the level of the fuel in the tank. In this case, some fuel would leak from the
line, but would not allow the enre contents of the tank to siphon into the boat. (See g 6.3.6)
6.3.5 Filling Fuel Tanks
The fuel system is designed to automacally shut o the fuel nozzle when the tank is full by the “Inlet
Control Valve” (See Fig 6.3.6) similar to an automove fuel system. The tank is lled when the fuel ll
nozzle has shut itself o the second me. Aempng to ll the tank past this point may cause some of the
components to not funcon properly, or malfuncon.
Never leave the fuel nozzle unaended while lling your boat with fuel. Unaended fuel pump nozzles may
lead to unintended spill of fuel into your boat, or into the water. Accidental fuel spills into the water, even at
seemingly insignicant amounts, can expose the boat owner to potenal remediaon costs and nes from
the U.S. Coast Guard and / or local authories.
What does the IFDV do?
The integrated fuel demand valve, used in conjuncon with integrated fuel systems, is for
below-deck use, eliminates pressurized fuel from reaching fuel distribuon lines / the engine, and
ensures that fuel is provided to the engine on demand rather than as a result of pressure in the tank.
Addional features include:
Compable with Ethanol-blended fuels
Eliminates the need for rigid fuel distribuon lines in
pressure relief systems (per ABYC H-24, 15.9)
2-year warranty
!!! WARNING
The use of a portable fuel tank to ll your fuel tanks can result in overlling and circumvent the safe
features designed into our fuel tank system.
!!! WARNING
Modicaon of any of the fuel system components or the replacement of these components with
unauthorized parts may result in over-pressurizaon of the fuel system and circumvent the safety
features designed into your fuel system.
