ASSEMBLING THE CRANKCASE
1. Lubricate:
• bearings
• oil seals
2. Install:
• bearings
• bearing retainer

(to the right crankcase)
• bearing retainer bolts
NOTE:
Install the bearing retainer with the “OUT”
mark
a
facing up.
3. Thoroughly clean all the gasket mating sur-
faces and crankcase mating surfaces.
Recommended lubricant
Bearing
Engine oil
Oil seal
Lithium-soap-based grease
New

4. Apply:
• Yamaha bond No. 1215

(to the mating surfaces of both crankcase
halves)
NOTE:
_
Do not allow any sealant to come into contact
with the oil gallery.
5. Install:
• dowel pins
• O-rings
