Installation
•All wiring shall comply with Canadian Electrical
code Part I and Local Electrical Codes.
General purpose equipment connected to barrier
must not use or not generate more than 250 Vrms or
Vdc.
The safety barriers and intrinsically safe apparatus
connected with BT200 must be certified by CSA.
•Associated apparatus manufacturer’s installation
drawing must be followed when installing these
intrinsically safe apparatuses.
•Not a warning label worded:
“SUBSTITUTION OF COMPONENTS MAY
IMPAIR INTRINSIC SAFETY” and “TO PRE-
VENT IGNITION OF A HAZARDOUS ATMO-
SPHERE, BATTERIES MUST ONLY BE
CHANGED IN AN AREA KNOWN TO BE
NONHAZARDOUS” and “USE IN ACCOR-
DANCE WITH INSTRUCTION MANUAL IM
1C0A11-01E”.
The battery used in BT200 must be as follows.

The instrument modification or parts replacement by
other than authorized representative of Yokogawa
Electric Corporation and Johnson Yokogawa
Corporation is prohibited and will void Canadian
Standard Association Intrinsic Safety Certification.
