The BSD4 detector switches to the selected mode
and displays an image.
When using TOPO mode, the opposite
diodes arranged in a circle need to have converse
polarity.
Example combinations are shown in the images.
Depending on the illumination the image appears
differently. The illumination can be controlled with
the polarity of the diodes.
Because the BSD4 detector can be mounted to dif-
ferent ports, it is recommended to experiment with
different opposite pairs until the required result is
obtained. The setting has to be adjusted for
different kinds of specimen.
