STEP 1 Turn on ZOLL AED 3 Defibrillator
Press the On/Off button in the upper left corner of the AED to turn it on.
STEP 2 Press Child Selection button (if needed)
If the patient does not meet the definition of a “Child” (see below),
proceed to step 3.
Press the Child Selection button on the bottom right side of the
defibrillator if you are using CPR Uni-padz and the patient is less than 8
years old or weighs less than 55 pounds (25 kg). The Child Selection
button lights up and the AED announces CHILD PATIENT SELECTED.
NOTE If you are using Pedi-padz II, the Child Selection button
automatically lights up.
NOTE If you press the Child Selection button while in Child Mode (with
CPR Uni-padz connected), the Child Selection button light turns
off and the defibrillator announces ADULT PATIENT SELECTED.
