CHAPTER 6
Router
6.1 Overview
This chapter describes how you can configure the management IP address, DHCP settings of your
LTE4506, the IP filtering and content filtering settings.
The Internet Protocol (IP) address identifies a device on a network. Every networking device (including
computers, servers, routers, printers, and so on.) needs an IP address to communicate across the
network. These networking devices are also known as hosts.
6.1.1 What You Can Do in this Chapter
Use the LAN IP screen to configure the LTE4506’s LAN IP address (Section 6.2 on page 56).
Use the DHCP Server screen to enable the DHCP server on the LTE4506 (Section 6.3 on page 56).
Use the DNS Settings screen to configure the LTE4506’s DNS settings (Section 6.4 on page 58).
Use the Connected Devices screen to view current clients information (Section 6.5 on page 58).
Use the IPv4/Port Filter screen to view and configure IPv4/Port filtering rules (Section 6.6 on page 59).
Use the IPv6/Port Filter screen to view and configure IPv6/Port filtering rules (Section 6.7 on page 60).
Use the URL Filter screen to view and configure content filtering rules (Section 6.8 on page 61).
Use the IP/Port Forwarding screen to view and configure port forwarding rules (Section 6.9 on page
62).
Use the DoS Attack screen to configure protection against Denial of Service (DoS) attacks that can
flood your Internet connection with invalid packets and connection requests (Section 6.10 on page
63).
Use the ALG screen to configure Application Layer Gateway (ALG) that allows applications to
operate properly through the LTE4506’s NAT (Network Address Translation) (Section 6.11 on page 64).
Use the UPnP screen to enable UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) to permit networking devices to
discover each other and connect seamlessly (Section 6.12 on page 65).
Use the ICMP screen to enable ICMP (Internet Control Message Protocol) to have the LTE4506
regularly ping the gateway and LAN to make sure it is still available (Section 6.13 on page 66).
Use the ARP screen to configure ARP inspection to filter unauthorized ARP (Address Resolution
Protocol) packets on the network (Section 6.14 on page 66).
Use the DMZ screen to configure the IP address of a default server to receive packets (Section 6.15 on
page 68).
Use the DDNS Settings screen to configure the DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name System) settings that
allows you to use a dynamic IP address with one or many dynamic DNS services (Section 6.16 on
page 68).
Use the Remote Management screen to configure which HTTPS web service can access the LTE4506
(Section 6.17 on page 69).
Use the Telnet screen to configure your LTE4506 for remote Telnet access (Section 6.18 on page 70).
