more than one port has the same lowest priority, the switch will power down the PD connected to
the port with larger port number.
z manual: When the switch is close to its full load in supplying power, it will not make change to its
original power supply status based on its priority when a new PD is added. For example: Port A has
the priority critical. When the switch PoE is close to its full load and a new PD is now added to port
A, the switch just gives a prompt that a new PD is added and will not supply power to this new PD.
After the PoE feature is enabled on the port, perform the following configuration to set the PoE
management mode and PoE priority of a port.
Follow these steps to set the PoE management mode and PoE priority of a port:

Setting the PoE Mode on a Port
PoE mode of a port falls into two types, signal mode and spare mode.
z Signal mode: DC power is carried over the data pairs (1,2,3,and 6) of category-3/5 twisted pairs.
z Spare mode: DC power is carried over the spare pairs (4,5,7,and 8) of category-3/5 twisted pairs.
Currently, Switch 4200G does not support the spare mode.
After the PoE feature is enabled on the port, perform the following configuration to set the PoE mode on
a port.
Follow these steps to set the PoE mode on a port:

Configuring the PD Compatibility Detection Function
After the PD compatibility detection function is enabled, the switch can detect the PDs that do not
conform to the 802.3af standard and supply power to them.
After the PoE feature is enabled, perform the following configuration to enable the PD compatibility
detection function.
