You can use the Mute key in any audio mode.

Activate the Mute feature:
1.
During a call:
Press the Mute key.
If you place a muted call on hold, the
phone automatically takes the call off
mute when you reconnect to the call.
 The red Mute lamp flashes.
 The microphone icon displays
on the screen.
 You can hear the caller, but the
caller cannot hear you.
