System overview
System overview and single line diagram
The ACS580MV drive consists of the following parts:
• integrated input transformer with multiple secondary windings (TRU)
• power modules connected in cascaded h-bridge technology (INU)
• control system based on BCU-02 control unit.
Power supply configuration
The drive requires two independent power supplies:
• Main MV power supply for the power modules via the integrated input transformer
• Auxiliary power supply for the control and cooling equipment.
If the drive is equipped with the optional cabinet heaters, an additional AC supply is
required.
Main power supply to input isolation transformer
The main power is fed to the drive by the input isolation transformer which adapts the line
voltage to the required voltage for the power modules. The input isolation transformer is
always part of the drive system.
