Older Models, selections for operating with converter S4
Procedure:
If a converter is to be operated with an older model flowmeter primary then a FRAM with the values
Cs=100 % and Cz=0 % must be used. If this FRAM is installed in the converter and the converter was
connected according to the Interconnection Diagrams on Page 14 or 17, then when the power is turned on
the menu „Primary Setup“ is displayed. After pressing any key the following entries must be made. If later it
is determined that an incorrect entry was made, corrections can be made in the submenu Systemdata
„Primary“ . See Page 29.
Submenu
Entries can be made one after the other. In the submenu Primary
Setup select the Mains Frequency at which the flowmeter primary
was calibrated. See type tag. Select the appropriate flowmeter pri-
mary type from the list in the table. Important is the letter after the
model number and the meter size, otherwise the converter will not
access the correct reference data.

Enter the appropriate meter size. The values are listed for ANSI and
DN sizes. The reference voltage, see type tag on the flowmeter pri-
mary, is entered numerically. Then select the flow range and the re-
maining process parameters (damping, low flow cutoff, current/
pulse outputs, display format etc.). Then a system zero adjustment
must be made with a full pipeline at zero flowrate.

can be requested from the Service Dept. at the factory in
Göttingen, Germany by supplying the Order Number of the flowme-

Information:
If the flow direction indicators in the display indicate the wrong flow direction after start-up, e.g., reverse flow
instead of forward, corrections can be made in the submenu Operating Mode in the converter. First turn off
the Program Protection („Prog. Level" -> „Specialist"). Then in the submenu „Operating Mode" select the
parameter „Flow Direction". Select „Invers" instead of „Standard". Finally, turn the Program Protection on
again by selecting „Prog. Level" -> „Locked".
