13. Emergency operation
 Werecommendyouurgentlytouseacylinderlockwithemergencyoperationfeature.
Hereoutsideandinsidecanbeopenedandclosedseparatelyfromoneanother.
 Thisisimportantasaftermountingthedoorlockactuator,akeyisinsertedonthe
inside!Withaconventionalcylinderlock,thedoorcannolongerbeopenedfromthe
outside.Incaseofadefectorifthebatteriesareat,thedoorcannolongerbeopened
withoutforce.
Therearethefollowingtwopossibilitiestolock/unlockthelock:
1. With the hand wheel from the inside
 Wheninidlestate,thedoorlockactuatorisuncoupled,i.e.separatedmechanicallyfromthe
key.Byturningthehandwheelofthedoorlockactuator,thelockcanbelockedorunlocked.
Itisalsopossibletoopenthedoor.
 Thefunctionofthehandwheelis,thatis,thesameaswhenyouusea”normal”key.

 Thedoorlockactuatorhastobeinidlestate(motordoesnotmove).
2. With a key from the outside
 Forthis,acylinderlockwithanemergencyoperationfeatureisnecessary.Otherwisethekey
insertedontheinsideblocksanyoperationofthecylinderlock.
 Thelockcan(ifacylinderwithemergencyoperationfeatureisused)belockedandunlocked
fromoutsideorthedoorcanbeopenedwiththekey.

 Thedoorlockactuatorhastobeinidlestate(motordoesnotmove).
Screwsfor mounting theABUS Home Tec driver to fastening element base plate
should not be tightened too strong, otherwise driver could get stuck. In that case
openingdoorfromoutsidebykeycouldbecomedifcult.
