3. Move the generator towards the patient’s mouth. Ensure that the axis of the generator cone is
perpendicular to the position of the IP.
4. Operate the trigger on the timer to expose the dental zone and the IP to X-rays, ensuring that you comply
with all safety procedures.
5. After acquisition, remove the hygiene bag containing the IP from the patient’s mouth.
WARNING:
Contamination Risk. Wear protective gloves when removing the hygiene bag from the patient’s mouth.
CAUTION:
Contamination Risk. Clean and disinfect the hygiene bag before opening it.
6. Clean and disinfect the hygiene bag using a disinfectant wipe or by spraying disinfectant on a lint-free
cloth. Then remove the protective gloves. Disinfect and clean your hands.
WARNING:
Risk of PSPIX system malfunction.
Before handling the IP, it is important to remove any powder residue (from protective gloves) from your
hands. This can damage the PSPIX and have consequences for the X-ray image.
7. Open the hygiene bag by tearing off the adhesive strip.
8. Remove the protective cover containing the IP from the hygiene bag.
9. Keep the IP in the protective cover until it is introduced into the PSPIX system, taking care not to touch
it or expose it to ambient light.
WARNING:
Risks of image degradation. Image data on a IP will be erased by light. Keep the exposed IPs in their
protective covers until they are inserted into the PSPIX system.
