8.4 GENERAL INFORMATION - FOR STORAGE AND ERASURE OF THE IP
• IPs are sensitive to ambient light. If an IP is exposed to ambient light and it is used to acquire an X-ray
image, a shadow may appear on the image and the quality of the image can be degraded.
• When not being used, IPs must be stored in a storage box supplied with the PSPIX, unwrapped and
unexposed to ambient light to avoid a shadow appearing on the IP image.
• IPs can be stored in their protective cover and hygiene bag for short periods of time. However, if they
are stored under such conditions for more than 24 hours, you must erase the IPs before acquiring a X-ray
image. To do this, click on the “Erase” menu on the PSPIX touch screen . For further information, refer to
chapter 7.4.
• Storing IPs in their box protects them from dust and any risk of splashes in the dental practice.
• To avoid potential scratches, never leave IPs fl at on a surface, particularly on their active side.
• Never store IPs under hot or humid conditions.
Keep them at temperature of less than 33 °C and less than 80 % relative humidity.
• Never expose IPs to X-rays if this is not for the purposes of a X-ray acquisition.
• Never expose IPs to ultraviolet light.
• Use IPs with the appropriate size of protective covers.
• Use IPs with the appropriate size of hygiene bag.
