Risks of image degradation. Information “stored” on an IP after X-ray exposure is sensitive to light.
Consequently it must be protected from sunlight and daylight by a protective cover and a hygiene bag
until it has been read.
• For the best image quality it is advised to immediately read the IP after exposure to X-rays.
• During X-rays exposure always use protective covers and hygiene bags in order to ensure optimal
protection of IPs to:
- eliminate cross-contamination risks.
- preserve the image quality.
- maximize the IP’s lifespan.
WARNING:
Contamination Risk. The hygiene bags and protective covers consumables are single use. The reusing of
single use items can expose patients to a contamination risk.
8.3 REPLACING IPS
An IP must be replaced in the following cases:
• Signs of deterioration/wear on the active side.
• Visible scratches on the image.
• Stains or clearly visible marks that do not disappear after cleaning.
• Active surface worn or damaged by another vectors
•Any of the aforementioned marks that do not disappear after cleaning according to the instruction set out
in this manual.
• Damaged protective fi lm on the active side.
• IP torn or signifi cantly bent out of shape.
CAUTION:
Risks of image degradation. Never use IPs that are damaged, creased, modifi ed and/or discolored.
