8.3. ACCURACY OF THE EXPOSURE TIME
1. Put the X-ray detector at the cone outlet centred on the primary beam.
2. Turn on the timer.
3. Set the exposure time to 0.2s on the timer.
4. Carry out the exposure.
5. At the end of the exposure read on the display the actual exposure time.
6. Check the accuracy of the exposure time, use the chart below:

read the time value on the display I°

read the measure on the instrument II°
Emission time
subtract I° from II° III°
divide III° by II° IV°
Absolute error
multiply IV° by 100 V°
Percentage error (%)
the accurancy is checked when the % error is
± 5 % or ± 20msec
