Conditions which clear the status byte register
• When the power is turned on.
• When “*CLS” is executed. However, MAV is not cleared if data exists in the output buffer.
• When all bits of DSB, MAV, and ESB are cleared.
• The status byte register is not cleared by executing “*STB?”.

ON: Sets to 1 if one of the bit of the logical product of DESR and
DESER is 1.
OFF: Sets to 0 when DESR is cleared by “DSR?”. *1

Message Available
ON: Sets to 1 when the output data is entered in the output buffer.
OFF: Sets to 0 when the data is output from the output buffer.
5ESB
Standard Event Status
ON: Sets to 1 if one of the bit of the logical product of SESR and
SESER is 1.
OFF: Sets to 0 when SESR is cleared by “*ESR?”. *1
6MSS
Master Summary
ON: Sets to 1 if the SRER bit, which corresponds to STB, is set to 1
when an STB event occurs.*1
