1.3.1 System
CPU: LGA1156 Core i7/i5/i3/Pentium/Xeon
BIOS: AMI 64 Mbit SPI
System Chipset: Q57 for QG2 SKU and 3450 for WG2 SKU
SATA hard disk drive interface: Six on-board SATAII connectors support
Advanced Host controller interface (AHCI) technology and have data transmis-
sion rates up to 300 MB/s
Floppy disk drive interface: Supports one floppy disk drive, 5 1/4" (360 KB
and 1.2 MB) or 3 1/2" (720 KB, 1.44 MB). BIOS enable/disable

RAM: Up to 16 GB in four 240-pin DIMM sockets. Supports dual-channel DDR3
800/1066/1333 SDRAM.
– AIMB-780QG2-00A1E(Q57 Chipset): supports non-ECC unbuffered DIMMs
and do not support any memory configuration that mixes non-ECC with ECC
unbuffered DIMMs
– AIMB-780WG2-00A1E(3450 Chipset): supports both ECC and non-ECC
unbuffered DIMMs.
Neither platforms support any memory configuration that mix non-ECC with
ECC unbuffered DIMMs.
Note! WG2 sku only supports Xeon 34xx, Core i5 6xx, Core i3 5xx, and Pen-
tium G69XX CPUs
Note! Core i7, Core i5 7xx and Xeon 34xx quad core processors do NOT have
an integrated Intel® HD Graphics graphic core, it's necessary to use a
discrete graphic card/module to have video output.
Note! A 32-bit OS may not fully detect 4 GB of RAM when 4 GB is installed.
