(used
for
converting
the
digital
PCM
signal
to
conven-
tional
left
and
right
channel
audio
signals).
An
OPTICAL
termi-
nal
and
COAXIAL
jack
for
digital
signal
output
are
also
included
for
digital
audio
signal
output.
These
connections
can
be
used
if
you
wish
to
add
a
higher
grade
D/A
converter
or
a
digital
integrated
amplifier
which
is
equipped
with
aD/Acon-
verter.

Asregular
connection
cords
are
not
designed
to
handle
the
high
frequencies
that
are
part
of
the
PCM
signals,
they
are
not
recommended
for
digital
connections.

Video
connection
cords
or
cords
designed
for
digital
con-
nection
are
recommended.
@
Because
the
digital
PCM
signal
is
a
composite
signal
made
up
of
left
and
right
channel
signais,
a
single
connection
cable
is
used
for
connections.
@
The
Digital
to
Analog
Converter
(i.e.
D/A
converter
or
DAC)
unit
converts
digital
PCM
signals
such
as
the
playback
sig-
nals
of
a
compact
disc
to
conventional
left
and
right
audio
stereo
signals.
@
Disconnect
the
analog
audio
connection
cord
from
the
VARIABLE
or
FIX
LINE
OUT
jacks
for
good
sound
repro-
duction
when
using
the
digital
connections.
