The
auto
edit
system
can
be
used
for
convenience
when
rec-
ording
a
CD
on
acassette
tape.
Using
the
cassette
tape’s
rec-
ording
time
information,
the
system
edits
the
tracks
on
your
CD
into
programs
that
will
fit
within
the
recording
length
of
each
side
of
the
cassette
tape
you
are
using.

beginning

recording

(C-30,
C-46,
C-60, C-90,
etc.)

Press
the
M@
button
before
starting
automatic
edit
pro-
gramming.

Set
your
amplifier
to
the
CD
recording
mode.

Press
the
CLEAR
button
if
the
PROGRAM
indicator
appears
on
the
FL
display.

the
REPEAT
indicator
on
the
FL
display,
press
the
REPEAT
button
to
turn
off
it.

compact
disc
you
wish

record.

press
the
TAPE
button

length
of
the
cassette
tape
you
are
using
appears
on
the
digital
display.
The
various
tape
lengths
(C-30,
C-46
etc.)
will
appear
alternately
on
the
digital
display
as
the
TAPE
button
is
pressed.

Press
the
AUTO
EDIT
button.
ThelAlindicator
and
all
tracks
programmed
for
the
first
half
of
the
auto
edit
program
will
appear
on
the
music
calen-
dar.
The
digital
display
will
show
the
remaining
recording
time
of
the
cassette
tape
being
used.

start
automatic
edit
program
playback
Press
the
[>/§f
button
after
setting
the
cassette
deck
into
the
recording
mode.
When
the
1st
half
of
the
program
has
been
played
back
The
CD
player
will
go
into
the
pause
mode
and
the
Hindi-
Cator
will
appear
on
the
FL
display.
Alltracks
programmed
for
the
second
half
of
the
auto
edit
Program
will
automatically
appear
on
the
FL
display.
The
f8)
indicator
and
programmed
tracks
will
appear
on
the
music
calendar
and
the
digital
display
will
show
the
remaining
recording
time
of
the
cassette
tape.
Turn
over
the
cassette
and
set
the
cassette
deck
to
the
recording
standby
mode.
After
setting
the
cassette
deck
to
the
recording
mode
Press
the
[>/lI
button
to
start
the
2nd
half
of
auto
edit
pro-
gram
playback.
After
all
auto
edit
program
tracks
have
been
played
back
All
tracks
programmed
for
the
second
half
of
the
auto
edit
program
will
automatically
appear
on
the
FL
display
again.
The
remaining
recording
time
of
the
cassette
tape
will
also
appear.
To
play
back
the
auto
edit
program
again
after
replac-
ing
the
same
recording
time
cassette
tape
Press
the
SIDE
A/B
button
to
set
the
CD
player
for
play-
back
of
the
1st
half
of
the
auto
edit
program
and
repeat
the
above
steps
4
to
7.
To
cancel
playback
of
the
automatic
edit
program
Press
the
CLEAR
button.
All
tracks
contained
on
the
CD
and
its
total
playback
time
will
appear
on
the
FL
display.
The
EDIT
and
PROGRAM
indicators
will
disappear.
When
the
CLEAR
button
is
pressed
during
auto
edit
playback
The
CD
player
will
go
into
the
normal
playback
mode.
