Radio broadcast reception
Tuning of radio stations can be done manually or automati-
cally. Up to 30 radio stations can be memorized at preset
channels and recalled with the 10 key buttons or JOG dial.
Manual/auto tuning
| Press the TUNER button to select a band.
The band will change each time the TUNER button is
pressed.

? Press the F “~ or button to select the reception
frequency.
When a radio station is tuned in, the “TUNED?” indicator
will light.
Manual tuning
Press the F ~ or \V button repeatedly to tune in a
station.
F A button:
Tuning will proceed in the direction of high fre-
quencies.
F v button:
Tuning will proceed in the direction of low frequen-
cies.
Auto tuning
Hold the TUNING A or \ button pressed for a few
seconds to engage auto tuning. Frequencies will be
automatically scanned.
When a radio station is received, scanning will stop.
To stop scanning at any time, press the m button.
3 Press the CH MEMO button.
The Mi indicator and CH number will flash.
4 Press the CH “ or ~ button to select the desired
CH number.
5 Press the SET button to memorize the station.

Note:
® When selecting the CH number in step 4, do not use the
10 key buttons. If used, the previously memorized radio
station will be recalled, and the memory mode will be can-
celled.

Use this mode to automatically tune in stations and memo-
rize them at channels.

2 Press the CH MEMO button.

Press the CH “ / v button to select the CH num-
ber where you wish to start auto memorization.

Press the F “ button to start auto memorization.
Each time a radio station is tuned in it will be memo-
rized and assigned a channel. Unwanted stations can
be skipped by pressing the F ~ button while the ‘JJ’
and CH number indicators are flashing.
Auto station memorization will stop when 30 stations
have been memorized, or when the complete band has
been searched through.

5 To stop auto station memorization, press the m but-
ton.
Note:
e Auto memorization will not memorize stations with weak
signals.
About FM auto tuning
When the tuning band is set to FM auto (FM-A), the ste-
reo mode’s automatic selection function will operate.
When the tuned station is a stereo broadcast, the “STE-
REO’ indicator will light.
If reception is weak:
If reception of the FM station is weak, causing the STE-
REO indicator to flicker, set the band to “FM”.
Although the stereo broadcast will be switched to mono,
noise and distortion will be reduced resulting in clearer,
easier to hear reception.
