RDS r eception (AA-503R only)
RDS stands for Radio Data System and is a signal that trans-
mits data with FM broadcasts. 5 RDS functions that make
use of this data are available on the tuner of this system:
Programme Service name (PS), Clock Time adjust (CT), Al-
ternative Frequencies search (AF), Programme Type search
(PTY) and Traffic Programme search (TP). Please note that
if RDS data is not being broadcast or if the RDS indicator is
not lit on the system FL display (or flickers/disappears), these
functions will not operate properly.
RDS functions are operated with the following remote con-
trol buttons.

The PS name function displays the RDS station name. This
name appears on the system FL display when an RDS sta-
tion is tuned in.

PTY search
Language selection
PTY displays can be displayed in 4 languages: English, Ger-
man, French and Dutch. Before continuing with PTY search
operation, please select the language you want.
Press the PTY button for 3 seconds to enter the language
select mode and then continue pressing it until the language
you want is displayed. The system FL display will change as
follows.

search

of
programme
that
you
want
to
listen to using the PTY search function. There are various
types of programmes that can be searched for and these
are displayed on the system FL display as follows.
