In this stack of two OmniSwitch 6450 switches, the slot
1 switch is the primary management module. The slot 2
switch is the secondary.
The user reloads the stack’s primary management module
by issuing the reload primary command. Any data flow on
the primary switch’s Ethernet is interrupted.
The secondary switch automatically takes over the pri-
mary role. Ethernet traffic on slot 2 remains unaffected.
Meanwhile the stack has no interim secondary manage-
ment module as the switch reboots.
