Replace Guard I/O Modules Chapter 6
Figure 33 - Safety I/O Replacement Options
Configure Only When No Safety Signature Exists
This setting instructs the GuardLogix controller to configure a safety device
only when the safety task does not have a safety task signature. The
replacement device must also be in an out-of-box condition, meaning that a
safety network number does not exist in the safety device.
If the safety task has a safety task signature, the GuardLogix controller only
automatically configures the replacement CIP Safety I/O device if the
following is true:
• The device already has the correct safety network number.
• The device electronic keying is correct.
• The node or IP address is correct.
For detailed information, see the appropriate GuardLogix Safety Reference
Manual, which is listed in the Additional Resources on page 10
.
Configure Always
The GuardLogix controller always attempts to configure a replacement CIP
Safety I/O device if the device is in an out-of-box condition. This occurrence
means that a safety network number does not exist in the replacement safety
device and the node number and I/O device keying matches the configuration
of the controller.
