Locking Horizontal Operating Handles in the OFF/
O
Position
Some units utilize a horizontal operating handle. The horizontal operating
handle can be locked in the OFF/O position by putting the shackle of the lock
through the open slotted area to the left of the operator handle. See Figure 7.6.

Locking units with Operating Handles in the ON/I Position
To lock the operator handle in the ON/I position, drill out the pre-located
hole to 3/8” (9.5mm) diameter maximum, and insert the shackle of the lock.
The following instructions assume that the handle is in the ON/I position.
Units with small handles, the pre-located hole is in the upper portion of
the operator handle assembly.
Units with medium and large operator handles, the pre-located hole is
underneath the operator handle on the handle assembly.
Units with a horizontally mounted handle, the pre-located hole is on the
left-hand side of the handle assembly.

ATTENTION
Locking an operating handle in the ON/I position may be
in conflict with local codes and emergency shut down
requirements.
