5.3 BATTERY SELECTOR SWITCH
Service and starting battery:
Your vessel as standard is equipped with two battery main switches. If your boat has
only one battery, only one is in use. When you turn the battery switch to the ON
position, power is provided to the engine and consumers (if one battery) or to just
engine or consumers (2 batteries).
When leaving the boat for longer periods and when doing maintenance on
equipment/parts connected to the electrical system, turn the switch to the LOCK OFF
position. Also see the figure in chapter 5.4.

Emergency starting cross switch:
In case of 2 batteries, the switch also can combine battery banks for emergency starting.
In case the starter battery is drained, current can flow from the service battery to the
starter battery. To active emergency starting, push the cross switch inwards and rotate
clockwise 45 degrees. As soon as the engine has started, turn off the cross switch again
as high currents can otherwise damage the batteries. The engine will then charge the
drained starter battery. See the figure in chapter 5.4.
Bow thruster battery and switch (optional):
If the boat is equipped with a bow thruster, it uses a separate battery and switch. The
battery is located in the stern electrical compartment, while the switch is located in the
stern sofa next to the other switches. There is also a cross switch for the thruster
battery, so it can also be used for emergency starting of the engine, mentioned above.
