Overview of Innovations in the Ascotel ISDN-5.0, Version 5.1
PBX Hardware Platforms
The PBX hardware has been completely redesigned. The three modular systems
are based on two basic systems. One shared system for Ascotel 2025 and Asco-
tel 2045, and a separate system for Ascotel 2065.
This means that older systems cannot be upgraded. Existing configuration data
can be ported onto the new systems.
The switching capacity is 512 B channels, which means the systems are non-
blocking.
Sets of 4, 8, 16, and 24 cards are available for expanding the AD2 user-network
interfaces.
Two serial interfaces and one Ethernet interface are part of the system's basic
configuration.
The IPI (IP Interface card) replaces the MIPR (Module IP Router) and is used for
the AIP 6400, the VoIP gateway.
The UPS module is used to set up a system for interruption-free operation.
Emergency circuits are therefore redundant.
The DC-48V module is used to operate a system with 48 VDC.
All the systems can either be wall-mounted or installed inside a 19" cabinet
using a mounting frame.
