Overview of Innovations in the Ascotel ISDN-5.0, Version 5.1
PBX Hardware Platforms
• The PBX hardware has been completely redesigned. The three modular systems
are based on two basic systems. One shared system for Ascotel 2025 and Asco-
tel 2045, and a separate system for Ascotel 2065.
This means that older systems cannot be upgraded. Existing configuration data
can be ported onto the new systems.
• The switching capacity is 512 B channels, which means the systems are non-
blocking.
• Sets of 4, 8, 16, and 24 cards are available for expanding the AD2 user-network
interfaces.
• Two serial interfaces and one Ethernet interface are part of the system's basic
configuration.
• The IPI (IP Interface card) replaces the MIPR (Module IP Router) and is used for
the AIP 6400, the VoIP gateway.
• The UPS module is used to set up a system for interruption-free operation.
Emergency circuits are therefore redundant.
• The DC-48V module is used to operate a system with 48 VDC.
• All the systems can either be wall-mounted or installed inside a 19" cabinet
using a mounting frame.
