4.6 Numbering Plan and Regions
Subscribers connected directly to a PINX are always internal subscribers. Subscrib-
ers of a different PINX in the same private network are PISN subscribers. Several
PINXs can be grouped together into regions. All the regions together form the
PISN.
The relationships between PINX and PISN subscribers are specified in the internal
numbering plans of the individual PINXs.
4.6.1 Shared Numbering Plan
If two or more PINXs are structured in such a way that they split the range of sub-
scriber numbers among themselves, we talk of a shared numbering plan. Each
number can occur in the PISN only once. Together the PINXs form a region, in
which all the subscribers can be reached under internal call numbers.
