  If your ATEN Switch monitor doesn't display after hot-plugging the KVM cable set, it might be due to incompatibility between some HDMI/DVI graphics cards and cable set hot-plugging. To resolve this: 1. Power off all devices connected to the installation. 2. Power off the ATEN Switch. 3. Ensure all KVM cables are securely connected. 4. Power on the ATEN Switch. 5. Power on the computers.

Why is there no display on the monitor when switching to an HDMI computer using my ATEN CS1784A Switch?

  If your ATEN Switch connected to an HDMI computer shows no display on the monitor, it could be because the graphics card is DVI-I (Digital and Analog). To fix this, adjust the graphics card settings to digital only. Alternatively, replace the graphics card with a DVI-D or HDMI graphics card.

  If your ATEN Switch monitor doesn't display when switching ports, especially during the first-time installation or with a new monitor, switch ports again and wait two or more seconds. This allows the monitor's EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) to pass to the PC. If this doesn't work, it may be that the monitor’s EDID has not passed through to the PC. You can use the [d] hotkey to invoke Video DynaSync one more time or switch to another PC to reconnect the CS1784A.

  If your USB devices are not responding when connected to the ATEN Switch, it could be due to several reasons: * The USB ports may need a reset. Unplug the device’s USB cable from the USB port on the switch’s rear panel, and then plug it back in. * Your PC or OS might not support USB 2.0. Since the unit has a built-in USB 2.0 hub, it does not support PCs or OS that do not support USB 2.0. For OS that do not support USB 2.0, keyboard and mouse functions can be reset using the [F1] hotkey function.

How to fix mouse and keyboard not responding on ATEN CS1784A Switch?

  If your mouse and/or keyboard are not responding with the ATEN Switch, it could be due to an improper reset. Unplug the cable(s) from the console port(s), then plug it/them back in. Alternatively, the KVM switch itself might need a reset. Power off all devices, including the KVM switch, wait five seconds, and then power everything back on.

  If the device is not recognized in Windows after connecting to the ATEN Switch, it may be due to a Windows timing problem. Unplug the KVM cable from the computer’s USB port, go into Windows’ System Settings and remove the Unknown Device entry, and then plug the KVM cable back in. Windows should now recognize the device.

  If your gaming keyboard connected to the USB 2.0 peripheral port isn't working properly with the ATEN Switch, it might be because KVM hotkeys are not supported. Toggle the Keyboard Emulation hotkey [N] off and on again. Keyboard emulation must be enabled to use all the keyboard’s special keys.
