6.3.2 Compressor oil and oil filter
change
Run the compressor until warm. Close the outlet
valve(s) and stop the compressor.
Drain the oil by removing the drain plug and
opening the drain cock (1). The drain plug is
located at the left-hand side under the unit. Catch
the oil in a drain pan. Screw out the filler plug to
speed up draining. Close the drain cock and
tighten the plugs after draining.
Remove the oil filter (2), e.g. by means of the
handle of a spanner in the slot at the top.
Clean the filter seat on the manifold, see to it that
no dirt drops into the system. Oil the gasket of the
new filter element. Screw the element into place
until the gasket contacts its seat, then tighten one
half turn only.
Run the unit at Not Loaded for a few minutes to
circulate the oil. Stop and depressurize the unit.
Screw out the filler plug, add oil, if necessary,
until the oil level registers between markings A
and B (see section 6.5). Reinstall and tighten the
filler plug.
Never add more oil. Overfilling results in oil
consumption.
