environmental conditions and the best experience for viewing HDR
requires that you minimise the ambient light between your eyes and the
screen to easily resolve the dynamic range of the scene. This allows
you easy to more easily adjust and as such quickly resolve the dynamic
range.
For this reason, the Flame accessories include a sun hood which comes
atpackedin4sectionsfortransportationalongwith2x1/4”20mounts.
To assemble the sun hood please follow the following steps:
First thing to note is that the Sun hood consists of 3 parts as shown in the
image above - the base which connects to the Flame unit, the long shade
part of the hood and the front face. Attach the base to the Flame in the
orientation shown above ensuring that the soft side is sitting against the
glass face of the Flame unit.
This is a snug t in order to minimize external light bleed.
Push the unit in, align the top and bottom screw mounting holes and
attach the retaining screws.
As the retaining screws provide anchor point for mounting make sure
they are rmly connected to provide a solid base.
With the Sun hood base in place, take the main section and pop this
out to form a rectangular tunnel. With the Atomos logo on the top facing
correctly toward you, slide this into the base.

the Sun hood and retained by magnets.
When rst using the front face it may be required to bend the edge
aps a few times to frre up movement.
On the underside of the Sun hood construction is an elasticized access
point to the touch screen of the Flame unit. If required the front section
of the Sun hood can be removed from the base for direct access to the
touchscreen.
Due to the quick release nature of the front section NO NOT HOLD or
pass the unit by the Sun hood alone as this could lead to accidentally
dropping and damaging the Flame.
