Basic rules of operation
What does the idle display show?
The idle display shows:
• A symbol indicating missed calls, if applicable
• Name or phone number
• Day, date, time
• The active level of the function keys (965/9650C) or softkeys (9620/
9620L-40)
• Additional information on the status of your telephone, e.g. "Second call on"
• You can also configure the phone to display the function list when the phone is
idle (
↑ 68).
• Press the PHONE key to place the phone in idle mode.
Softkeys
The four Softkeys ( – 9620/9620L, 9630, 9640; – 9650/9650C) have
alternating functions. These functions depend on the current status of the
telephone. The current function of each key is displayed directly above it in a lower
display line as text or as a symbol. It is written in white lettering on a black
background.
