5.6 Device reset
All settings of the BTL can be reset to the factory settings.
The device reset can be triggered with the Reset-Service
0x05 of class 0x01, instance1 (without attribute number).
This is a SINT type parameter. If the value is 0, the
BTL7-V50D-… is only restarted, as would be the case
when switching it on and off. If the value is 1, all
parameters are additionally reset to the factory settings
beforehand.
Reset takes place directly and immediately interrupts
communication.
DANGER
Uncontrolled system movement
The reset immediately stops the function of the
magnetostrictive linear position sensor and also interrupts
the connection to downstream assemblies.
If the magnetostrictive linear position sensor is part of a
closed loop system, the system may perform uncontrolled
movements. This could result in personal injury and
equipment damage.
► Persons must keep away from the system’s
hazardous zones.
► Reset must be performed only by trained technical
personnel.
