whereabouts.

Donotoperatethismachinewithoutthehoodpin
inplace.Donotoperatethemachinewithanytype
ofmakeshifthoodpinoranimproperlyinstalledhood
pin.Thehoodpinmustbepadlocked.
Avoidmovingparts.Keephands,feet,andclothing
awayfrompowerdrivenparts.Keepallguardsand
shieldsinplaceandproperlysecured.Contactwith
movingpartswillresultinseriousinjuryordeath.
Donotoperatethismachineunlessallmachine
controlsoperateproperly.Theymustfunction,shift
smoothlyandaccuratelyatalltimes.
Makesure machine safety guards are properly
installedandsafetydevicesarefunctioningproperly.
Donot attempt to hand fed this machine.This
machineisdesignedtobefedbyamechanicallog
loader.Feedingmaterialintothismachinebyhand
isnotpermittedorauthorized.Severeinjuryordeath
canresult!
Checklawsandregulations.Knowandobeyall
lawsandregulationsthatapplytoyourworksituation.
Makesurethatallrequiredmaintenancehasbeen
completedbeforefollowingtheset-upprocedures.
Never feed any materials that might contain
wires, stones, nails, metal objects, or any foreign
objectwhichmaydamagetheknivesandbecome
dangerousprojectiles.
• Prepare and set up the work site. Make sure
therearenoloosetools,cans,linesoranyother
foreignobjectsinthearea.Anythingnotinuse
mustbestoredinatoolboxorstowedaway.
• Stabilize the infeed hopper and tongue if
unhookedfromatowvehicle.
• Donotrelyonatonguejacktokeepthemachine
stableifunhookedfromatowvehicle.
• Makesuretochockthetires.
• Checkforandremoveanyforeignobjectsinthe
infeedhopper.
1. Followallenginemanufacturer’srecommendations
forstartingtheengine.
2. Ifequippedwithahydraulicclutch,engagethe
clutchfromthecontrolpanel.Ifequippedwitha
manualclutch,bumptheclutchhandleuntilthe
drum or disc is moving, then fully engage the
clutchhandle.
1. Once the machine is at full RPM, engage the
feedwheelsintheforwarddirection.
2. Feethemachinewithamechanicallogloader.
3. Feedlarge,orbuttend,ofthebranchorloginto
theinfeedhopperrst.Neverfeedthismachine
byhand.
• Make sure the discharge is pointed in a safe
direction.
• Adjusttheipperasneeded.
• Make sure all personal protective equipment
(PPE) is worn. Examples of PPE: hard hat,
faceshield,gloves(nogauntletstyleglovesor
securedt), ear protection, high visibility vest,
andsteeltoeboots.
• Followallstart-upprocedures.
3. Throttlethemachineup.
4. If the limb or log does not feed, it may need
repositioned.To reposition, read the following
steps:
A. Reverse the feedwheels, reposition
thelimborlog,andfeedagain.
B. Thelogmayneedtoberemovedfromthe
machine toa safework area andtrimmed
beforeattemptingtofeedagainifitstillwill
notfeed.
