Informaton about the dfferent safety concepts:
Unventlated – (see Clause GG.2) Safety of the
applance does not depend on ventlaton of the
housng. Swtchng off the applance or openng
of the housng has no sgnfcant effect on the
safety. Nevertheless, t s possble that leakng
refrgerant may accumulate nsde the enclosure
and flammable atmosphere wll be released when
the enclosure s opened.
Ventlated enclosure – (see Clause GG.4) Safety
of the applance depends on ventlaton of the
housng. Swtchng off the applance or openng
of the enclosure has a sgnfcant effect on
the safety. Care should be taken to ensure a
suffcent ventlaton before.
Ventlated room – (see Clause GG.5) Safety of the
applance depends on the ventlaton of the room.
Swtchng off the applance or openng of the
housng has no sgnfcant effect on the safety.
The ventlaton of the room shall not be swtched
off durng repar procedures.
Informaton about the concept of sealed
components and sealed enclosures accordng to
IEC 60079-15:2010.
Informaton about the correct workng
procedures:
a) Commssonng
Ensure that the floor area s suffcent
for the refrgerant charge or that the
ventlaton duct s assembled n a correct
manner.
Connect the ppes and carry out a leak test
before chargng wth refrgerant.
Check safety equpment before puttng
nto servce.
b) Mantenance
Portable equpment shall be repared
outsde or n a workshop specally equpped
for servcng unts wth flammable
refrgerants.
Ensure suffcent ventlaton at the repar
place.
Be aware that malfuncton of the
equpment may be caused by refrgerant
loss and a refrgerant leak s possble.
Dscharge capactors n a way that won’t
cause any spark. The standard procedure to
short crcut the capactor termnals usually
creates sparks.
Reassemble sealed enclosures accurately.
If seals are worn, replace them.
Check safety equpment before puttng
nto servce.
c) Repar
Portable equpment shall be repared
outsde or n a workshop specally equpped
for servcng unts wth flammable
refrgerants.
Ensure suffcent ventlaton at the repar
place.
Be aware that malfuncton of the
equpment may be caused by refrgerant
loss and a refrgerant leak s possble.
Dscharge capactors n a way that won’t
cause any spark.
When brazng s requred, the followng
procedures shall be carred out n the rght
order:
Remove the refrgerant. If the recovery s
not requred by natonal regulatons, dran
the refrgerant to the outsde. Take care
that the draned refrgerant wll not cause
