1.Doavisualinspectionofthemainrotorbladesasfollows:
a.Cleanthemainrotorblades.
b.Visuallyexaminetheupperandlowerskinsandtheleadingedge
abrasionstripandtipcapofeachmainrotorbladefordamage.
c.Ifoneormoremainrotorbladesisdamaged,dothefollowing:
(1)Removeallthemainrotorblades.
(2)AttachaTHISCOMPONENTWASREMOVEDFROMSERVICE
BECAUSEOFAHARDLANDINGtagoneachmainrotorblade.
(3)Sendallthemainrotorbladestoanapprovedfacilityforfurther
inspectionandrepair.
2.Doavisualinspectionofthemainrotorhubassemblyasfollows:
NOTE
Yieldingordeformationofthelowermountassemblyonthemain
rotorhubassemblymayoccurundercertainconditionspriorto
crosstubedeformationorbending.
a.Visuallyexaminetheupperandlowermountassembliesofthe
mainrotorhubassemblyforhardcontact,yielding,anddeformation.If
thelowermountassemblyshowssignsofdamage,butnoothermain
rotorhubormainrotorbladedamageisfound,replacethedamaged
components.
b.Ifthelowermountassemblyshowssignsofdamage,butnoother
mainrotorhubormainrotorbladedamageisfound,replacethe
damagedcomponent.
c.Iftheuppermountassemblyshowssignsofdamageanddamageis
withinlimits,repairtheuppermountassembly.Ifdamageexceedslimits,
replacetheuppermountassembly.
d.Visuallyexaminethemainrotorhubassemblyfordamage.Ifthemain
rotorhubassemblyshowssignsofdamage,dothefollowing:
(1)Removethemainrotorhubassembly.
(2)AttachaTHISCOMPONENTWASREMOVEDFROMSERVICE
BECAUSEOFAHARDLANDINGtagonthemainrotorhubassembly.
(3)Disassemble,clean,anddoadetailedinspectionofthemainrotor
hubassembly.
