Collisionwithhailcancauseextensivedamagetothehelicopter,
suchasdenting,tearing,andpuncturingofthefuselage,blades,and
controls,shatteringofthewindshield,delaminationofthenosecap,and
instrumentdamage.Haildamageaffectslargesurfaceareasofthe
helicopter.Inmostcases,Bellrecommendsreplacementofanypart(s)
showinghaildamage.

1.Visuallyexaminethefuselage,cowling,andfairingskinsforcracks,
dents,tears,punctures,impactdamage,perforationofairinletscreens,
asapplicable,andconditionofthepaint.Payextraattentiontothese
particularlyexposedcomponents:

•Cockpitplenumanduppernosedoors
•Nosebaydoors
•Noseshell
•Landinglightcoverpanelandwindow
•Forwardfairing
•Cabinplenumdoor
•Forwardcowlassemblies
•Transmissioncowlings
•Enginecowlings
•Sidebodypanels
2.Visuallyexaminethetailboomskinsforcracks,dents,tears,punctures,
impactdamage,andconditionofthepaint.Payextraattentiontothe
driveshaftcovers.
3.Visuallyexaminethehorizontalstabilizers,auxiliarynassemblies,
andverticalnassemblies,forcracks,dents,tears,punctures,impact
damage,andconditionofthepaint.Payextraattentiontotheleading
edgesandtheupperskins,asapplicable.
