Handlingdamagetothetailrotorbladecanbecausedbydroppingor
bumpingthebladeagainstanotherobjectordroppinganobjectonthe
blade.Ifapotentialhandlingdamagesituationoccurs,inspecttheblade
fordamageasfollows:

1.Visuallyexaminethetailrotorbladesforcracks,dents,tears,visible
impactdamage,andconditionofthecoating/paint.Payextraattentionto
theleadingedgeabrasionstrips,trailingedge,andafter-bodyregionof
blade.Notethatdelaminationscanexistwithoutanyvisualindications;
therefore,theblademustbeexaminedforvoidsusingtapinspection
techniques.
2.Ifanydamageisfoundorsuspectedonthetailrotorblade(s),do
thefollowing:
a.Removethedamagedtailrotorbladeassembly.
b.AttachaTHISCOMPONENTWASREMOVEDFROMSERVICE
BECAUSEOFHANDLINGDAMAGEtagonthetailrotorblade(s).
c.Sendthetailrotorblade(s)toanapprovedfacilityforfurtherinspection
andrepair.
3.Ifnodamageisfoundonthetailrotorblades,thetailrotorblade
assemblyisserviceable.
