BellHelicopterTextron(BHT)hasappliedtheMaintenanceSteeringGroup-3rdT askForce(MSG-3)methodology
todevelopthescheduledmaintenance/inspectionprogramoftheModel429helicopter.Theresultingscheduled
inspectionsaredesignedtoimprovereliabilityandhelicopteravailabilitywhilereducingmaintenancecosts.
Toprovideadditionaldetailontheprocess,MSG-3Revision2005wasusedtodeveloptheinitialscheduled
maintenance/inspectionprograminconjunctionwithaCustomerMaintenanceAdvisoryPanel(CMAP).T oensurea
diverseknowledgebasewhilealsotakingintoaccountvarioushelicopteroperationalenvironments,theCMAPteam
wascomprisedofexperiencedhelicoptermaintainersfromaroundtheworldaswellasregulatoryspecialistsfrom
TransportCanadaCivilAviation(TCCA),theFederalAviationAdministration(FAA),theEuropeanAviationSafety
Agency(EASA),ProductSupportEngineering,andotherspecialistsfromBellHelicopterTextron(BHT).
TheMSG-3processprovidesindividualmaintenanceprogramsforthehelicoptersysteminspections,structure
inspections,zonalinspections,andenhancedzonalinspectionsasfollows:
-Thesystemsprogramdevelopsmaintenance/inspectiontasksbasedonMSG-3systemsanalysis.
-Thestructuresprogramdevelopsspecic,directedinspectiontasksofeachstructuralsignicantitembased
onMSG-3structuralanalysis.
-Thezonalprogramdevelopsgeneralvisualinspectiontasksofsysteminstallationsandstructureonazone
byzonebasisofthehelicopter.
-Theenhancedzonalprogramdevelopsgeneralvisualinspectionanddetailedinspectiontasksofthehelicopters
ElectricalWiringInterconnectionSystem(EWIS).
FollowingcompletionofalloftherequiredMSG-3analysis,themaintenance/inspectiontaskswerecompiled
intotheInitialMaintenanceRequirementsReport(IMRR).TheinformationcontainedwithintheIMRRisbased
onthebasictypecerticateofthehelicopter,includingallBHTkits.SupplementalTypeCerticates(STC’s)or
modications/installationsperformedbytheoperatorarenottakenintoaccount.TheIMRRisavailableuponrequest
fromProductSupportEngineering.
TheinformationcontainedwithintheIMRRwasthenusedtocreatethescheduledinspectionswithin
429-A-05-00-00-00A-009A-A.Sixdigittasknumbers(i.e.,623009)areprovidedinthedatareferencecolumnofthe
variousscheduledinspectionswithin429-A-05-00-00-00A-009A-A.Thesetasknumberscoincidewiththeinspection
tasksdevelopedaspartoftheMSG-3processandcanbereferencedintheIMRR.Althoughuseofthetasknumbers
andcrossreferencingbacktotheIMRRfortaskinformationisnotarequirementtoconducttheinspectiontasks
providedin429-A-05-00-00-00A-009A-A,theinformationisprovidedtoensuretraceabilitytothesourcedocument
wherethetaskwasdeveloped.
AstheIMRRisa“livingdocument”subjecttoregularreview,thescheduledinspectionsprovidedin
429-A-05-00-00-00A-009A-AofthismanualwillbeupdatedfollowingapprovalofanyrevisiontotheIMRR.Revisions
tothescheduledmaintenanceprogramthroughmodicationoftheIMRRmaybeinitiatedbyindustry,theCMAP,or
BHT.Theserevisionsmayresultfromserviceexperience,manufacturerstestdata,analysis,changesinconguration
orstandardoptions,and/orchangestothepoliciesormethodsbywhichthemaintenancetasksarederived.
NOTE
Referto429-A-05-40-00-01A-028A-Aforthescheduledinspectionsthatoccuratspeciedintervalsof
thecomponentoperatingtime.
Thescheduledinspectionscontainedintheinspectionprogramincludealloftheairframe,component,zonal,and
BHToptionalequipmentkitinspectionsforwhichtheintervalisbasedonairframeorcomponentoperatingtime,as
applicable.
NOTE
ThePW207D1/D2MaintenanceManual(P/N3071602)includesalloftheinstructionsforcontinued
airworthinessforthePW207D1/D2engines,asinstalledintheModel429helicopterandoperatedin
accordancewiththelimitationscontainedintheFlightManual(BHT-429-FM-1,Section1).

9.ScheduledInspections—TypesofScheduledInspections
Otherthantheservicingrequirementsstatedinthescheduledinspectionprogram,theprogramconsistsofscheduled
inspectionswhichcanbegeneralvisualinspectionsordetailedinspections,asrequired.
