traceabilitytotheiroriginalinstallationinthehelicopter.
Makesurealllimitedlifepartsthathavecompletedtheirpublishedoperatinglimitsarereplaced.
Makesureallcomponentsthathavecompletedtheirpublishedinspectionintervalsareinspected.
NOTE
Theowner/operatormaychoosetoaskthemaintenanceorganization/persondoingthemaintenanceto
performthetaskslistedbypriorarrangementthroughaseparateformalagreement.
Makesureallofthemaintenancerequiredonthehelicopterisdonebyanapprovedmaintenanceorganization.This
maintenanceorganization/personisresponsibleforthequalityofthemaintenancedone.
10.Inspections-CrashDamage
Becauseofthemanypossiblecombinationsthatcanresultfromcrashdamage,itisnotpossibletoincludeallspecic
repairtasksinthiscategory.Evaluatethecrashdamageforeachsituationanddotherepairinaccordancewith
thedegreeofdamagetothespecicpartorcomponentusingtheapplicablerepairproceduresinthismanualor
otherapplicablemanuals.ItisrecommendedtocontactBellProductSupportEngineeringforassistancewith
crashdamageevaluation.
11.Inspections-TypesofInspections
Inspectionrequirementscontainedinthischapterincludescheduledinspections,scheduledcomponentinspections,
specialinspections,andconditionalinspections.Theseareasfollows:
Scheduledinspectionsoccuratspeciedintervalsofhelicopteroperatingtime.Theseintervalsmaybeinighttime
(hours),cycles,ightcycles,torqueevents(RetirementIndexNumber(RIN)),calendartime(days,months,years)or
otherassignedunits.Thisensuresthatthehelicopterisairworthy.
Scheduledcomponentinspectionsoccuratspeciedintervalsofcomponentoperatingtime.Whenspeciedintervals
arereached,thecomponentmustberemovedfromthehelicopterandrestoredorreplaced,asapplicable.
Specialinspectionsareofatemporarynature(e.g.,opportunityinspections,etc.)oroccuratspecialintervals
thatarenotconsistentwiththescheduledinspections.
Conditionalinspectionsdonotoccurataspeciedtime.Theyareconductedbasedontheresultofknownor
suspectedunusualevents,knownorsuspectedmalfunctions,ordefects.
Lubricationandservicingrequirementsareinadditiontothosestatedinthischapter(429-MM,Chapter12).
Inspectionrequirementscontainedinthischapterprovideforcorrosioncontrolinnormaloperatingenvironments
oroutsidetypicalenvironmentalconditions.Ifthehelicopterisoperatedinanareathatisconducivetocorrosion,
refertotheCSSD-PSE-87-001,CorrosionControlGuideandtheBHT-ALL-SPM,Chapter3,StandardPractices
Manualforadditionalinformationoncorrosioncontrolguidelines.Foroperationsoutsideoftypicalenvironmental
conditionstheoperatorshouldcontactProductSupportEngineeringandrefertotheCSSD-PSE-87-001,Corrosion
ControlGuideandtheBHT-ALL-SPM,Chapter3,StandardPracticesManualforadditionalinformationoncorrosion
controlguidelines.
NOTE
ThePW207D1/D2MaintenanceManual(P/N3071602)includesalloftheinstructionsforcontinued
airworthinessforthePW207D1/D2engines,asinstalledintheModel429helicopterandoperatedin
accordancewiththelimitationscontainedintheFlightManual(BHT-429-FM-1,Section1).
Scheduledmaintenancechecks,unscheduledmaintenancechecks,andtimebetweenoverhaulforthePW207D1/D2
enginesareinadditiontothosestatedinthischapter.RefertothePW207D1/D2MaintenanceManual(P/N3071602).
Inspectionrequirementsforthecommonoptionalequipment,approvedbyBell,arecoveredinthischapter.Inspection
