Bend-Tech Dragon Assembly Manual
IMPORTANT: Please read before unpacking. Place shipping
container in a wide open area where you will have room to work
and assemble this product.
Shipping
The Dragon Machine comes
in two separate shipping
containers: One for the
primary parts and one for
the rail extension.
The primary container's
dimensions are 60x48x72 in.
The secondary container's
dimensions are 292x12x12
for the shorter machine.
(Length varies by the length
of machine purchased)
Inspection
Please make sure that your Dragon Machine product is
properly inspected to make sure there was no damage to
the machine during shipping and check to make sure that
all the parts are intact and present in the containers.
Read the list of parts included on p.2-3.

Summary

Unloading the Machine

Initial Crate Disassembly

Disassemble primary shipping crate and remove top of secondary crate using power drill and Phillips head bit.

Removing Shipping Fasteners

Remove shipping screws and bolts from machine base and part catcher with power drill and 5/16 inch hex wrench.

Dismantling the Support Leg

Removing Bottom Rail Bolt

Remove bottom 3/4 inch bolt securing rail to support leg using ratchet and 3/4 inch socket.

Removing Top Bolts and Support Leg

Remove top two 9/16 inch bolts and then remove the support leg and new rail.

Assembling the New Rail

Attaching Rail to Support Leg

Affix rail, support leg, and pulley system together using 3/4 inch nut/bolt, 9/16 inch bolts, washers, and coupler nuts.

Transferring the Chuck

Loosening Chuck from Gate

Loosen chuck from gate using chuck key by turning clockwise to draw teeth inward.

Rail Preparation for Chuck

Degrease and wipe down the rail to remove shipping grease before sliding the chuck on for a smoother process.

Sliding Chuck onto New Rail

Slowly slide chuck onto new rail, supporting it from the tail end to prevent wobbling.

Securing Chuck Plate

Tighten the bottom bolts on the chuck using the 5/16 inch hex wrench.

Removing Stock Rail Fasteners

Remove bolts on both sides where stock rail meets face plate using ratchet, extension, and 3/4 inch socket.

Assembling the Machine Components

Guide Block Installation and Machine Positioning

Install guide block, align chain gear, and move machine head to new rail slot.

Beak Attachment to Front Face

Attach beak to front machine face using 3/4 inch bolts, ensuring part catcher is removed.

Part Catcher, Chain, and Cord Setup

Secure part catcher, connect chuck chain, and route chain/cord through guides and around sprocket.

Final Adjustments and Cable Management

Adjust chain/cable tension, secure track with screws, and affix cable wrap using zip ties.

Pulley Guard, Zip Tie Removal, and L-Bracket

Attach pulley guard, remove hindering zip ties, and remove L-bracket from tool changer head.

Attaching the Center Support Gate

Positioning for Square Gate

Position center gate horizontally, align bolt holes, and lift to stand upright.

Positioning for Round Gate

Position center gate in line with rail bolt holes, lifting rear of machine if needed for clearance.

Connecting Gate with Bolts

Connect gate to rail using ratchet, 3/4 inch socket, and two 3/4 inch nuts and bolts.

Connecting Pressure Switch

Connect pressure switch to rail using ratchet, 3/4 inch socket, and the last 3/4 inch nut and bolt.

Connecting Air Line

Connect air line to the bottom of the air pressure regulator.

Electronic Connections

Electronics Guard Plate Removal

Remove bottom electronics guard plate nuts and the plate itself using fingers or tools.

Connecting Main Cables and Power

Connect parallel cord, 5v power source, Ethernet cable, and machine power cord.

Torch Power, Air Hose, and System Activation

Connect torch power, air hose, and activate system power switches on operator panel and electronics core.

Hypertherm Torch Installation

45 Amp Torch Preparation and Mounting

Remove brass teeth, set aside pendant, and install torch head into mounting brackets.

65 Amp Torch Disassembly Steps

Remove torch head screws, loosen air hose clasp, remove ceramic sections, and slide out brass teeth.

65 Amp Torch Reassembly and Mounting

Reassemble torch, tighten parts, and install torch head into mounting brackets.

Voltage Settings Configuration

Electronics Core Access

Remove four screws securing electronics core with Phillips head screwdriver for access.

Locating Voltage Switch

Tilt bottom of electronics core to reveal red switch on underside, ensuring wires remain connected.

Setting 230 v Operation

Flip the red switch to the 230v setting.

Securing Electronics Core

Return electronics core, secure panel with screws, and reattach guard plate with 3/8 nuts.
