Operating the Fan

To ensure proper fan rotation:
1. Turn on the fan.

3. If the fan is not rotating counterclockwise, reverse the direction of rotation. See page 37 for instructions on changing the direction of
rotation.
Heating season

Adjust the fan speed to the appropriate starting fan speed listed in the table below.

Stand directly below the tips of the airfoils with hand outstretched. If you feel a draft, slightly decrease the fan speed (0.5). Repeat until
the draft is no longer noticeable.
Cooling season

Increase the speed of the fan until desired air speed or maximum fan speed is reached. In air conditioned facilities, increase the
thermostat setting by 2–7°F to save energy.
