4.1.1 Function
The Power Supply Units NT300 or NT301, respectively, occupy slots 1
and 2 of a card cage and can be supplied with input voltages of 115 V AC
or 230 V AC at a line frequency of 47 to 63 Hz.
The desired input voltage can be selected using the selector switch S1
on the NT300 Power Supply Unit (see paragraph 4.1.4).
Input voltage selection is not necessary with the NT301 because the
NT301 auto−ranges to the respective input voltage.
The power supply unit generates the following operating voltages for the
CL300:
D +5V for the logic circuits
D +12V for the peripheral bus
D +12V isolated for the interface
D 3.4V for the program memory module
The power supply unit performs the following monitoring functions:
D Monitoring of the input voltage for undervoltage
D Monitoring of the +5V and the +12V for overvoltage and under
voltage
D Monitoring of the temperature for 70_C +10% max.
If one of these monitoring functions trips, the power supply is deactivated
and all controller outputs are reset to zero.
