Cleaning6.1
The housing and display of the KTS 340 are only to be
cleaned using a soft cloth and neutral cleaning agents.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents and coarse work-
shop cloths.
Battery replacement6.2
If handled incorrectly, there is a risk of
ignition, rupture and combustion.
Batteries are not to be heated, burnt, short-
circuited, mechanically damaged or charged
with excessively high currents or reverse
polarity.
Suitable extinguishing agents: Water, CO2, ¶
sand.
Only use the nickel-metal hydride batteries (HXAA !
2000) specified for the KTS 340. Always replace all
the batteries. Dispose of old batteries in accordance
with the applicable legislation.
Switch off the KTS 340.1.
Slacken off the bolts (5x; Fig. 4; Item 1) on the back 2.
of the unit and detach the housing cover (Fig. 4;
Item 2).
Take out the battery compartments on the left and 3.
right and set down on metal housing (Fig. 4; Item 3).
Take out the old batteries (Fig. 4; Item 4).4.
Insert new batteries (8x), taking care to ensure 5.
correct polarity.
Re-insert the battery compartments in the device.6.
Fit the back panel of the device again.7.
Take care not to trap the leads to the battery com- !
partment when fitting the back panel.
Screw the bolts (5x) back in.8.
